Hi Aprill,

Thanks for visiting my little project for the year. I am less worried about the world as a whole and I am concentrating on making the life around me change this way. I am working towards surrounding myself with less selfishness and more empathy by being the example people can follow.

The more people listen to my message, the more the message becomes a stable and significant message that people can easily follow. I hope that through me, others will see this and try it out for themselves and possibly find their own Heaven on Earth.

Take charge of your life, and be positive about it. You can accomplish so much.

Ah, I see... "... = Aprill realizing how little she's done to accomplish things and be herself." I've been there. Last year. Takes us a while to get to where you are at right now. Took me a few months to get to where I am from there. The beginning is near. :)

Thanks for sharing this. I often think to myself if there was just a little more empathy, and less selfishness the world would work better. However, we've been de-sensitized by our media and other facets. Hopefully this will change.

my case for selfishness:

when im reading a great book..

when im knocking out the weeks latest comics [wed.s]

when im tooling on my car..

i WANT to be alone. these times, those things are for me...

as i define it: selfishness can be center-seeking..

and sometimes enlightening.. solace has a purpose also

so mostly i try to stay out of ppl's way..

it seems everyone is in such a rush to be no place
of consequence.

... and sometimes i fix broken stuff.

Have to agree. Empathy, patience, and humility are important virtues. A shame each are seen as weaknesses in a culture that admires self-centeredness and independence. Even more difficult to balance all three at the same time.

I value empathy. Unfortunately, selfishness can be a hard habit to break. But as naive as I may be, I really believe understanding can solve most human conflict. Worth aspiring for, at least.

Thanks for the post, Edgar.
